Yes you can. myhomefone™ is a home phone that runs on the 4G mobile networks. As long as your home has the service provider’s network coverage, your myhomefone™ will work like any other home phone. We use either Telstra or Optus SIM cards (depending on your coverage and requirements).
Because myhomefone™ runs on the mobile network via a SIM card installed in the base, there is no installation necessary. Simply plug your phone into a power point and turn it on using the ON/OFF switch at the back of the base, and it will bring the network up within 60 seconds, ready to make and receive calls.
Yes you can. Simply call our service centre, tell them that you would like to keep your old home phone number and they will do the rest. Note: transferring your old home phone number to myhomefone™ can take up to 14 business days depending on your current provider.
The service does run a little differently to your traditional landline. Once your number has been transferred across, we place it on permanent diversion to the SIM card in our phone, so everyone that knows your number can keep calling it. When you dial out from a myhomefone unit, the Caller ID will be the mobile number from the SIM card. Unfortunately there is no way around this, we can make the number private if you so wish, but it is as simple as letting everyone know that the mobile number will show up on their phone from now on when you are calling them.
Yes. myhomefone will come with its own mobile number, but if you would also like a new landline number for family or friends to ring, we can arrange a new number to be generated for you. This will be charged as a one-off fee of $24.95.
Please contact our service centre and we will discuss your needs with you.
myhomefone™ is the low cost alternative to nbn™ based phone services. We have a range of calling plans to choose from. Please click here to see our current pricing.
We have a minimum 12 month period once myhomefone™ has been delivered. If you no longer wish to use the myhomefone™ service at any stage after the minimum period simply give us 60 days written notice.
